Job Description
As a Technical DFM Engineer, you will play a critical role at the intersection of concept design, engineering, and operations. You will ensure that innovative product concepts transition seamlessly from R&D into scalable, high-quality production. By defining manufacturability requirements, supporting durability testing, and strengthening quality control processes, you will directly impact product reliability and production excellence.
This role is ideal for an engineer who combines hands-on design expertise with a strong understanding of manufacturing, quality, and scalability
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure a smooth and efficient transfer of newly developed product concepts from R&D to Production.
· Own the DFM planning process, defining production, quality, and product requirements.
· Design products with a strong focus on ease of assembly, manufacturability, and scalability.
· Collaborate closely with external manufacturers, ensuring proper planning, mold quality, and First Article Testing (FAT/FOT).
· Maintain close alignment with design and embedded engineering teams to ensure technical and functional requirements are met.
· Develop, implement, and support test protocols and quality control checkpoints for the QC department.
· Proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities to enhance product durability and production quality.
Quality & DFM Ownership
You will be responsible for leading the DFM phase and quality readiness of new products, including:
· Designing and managing the DFM phase for new product introductions.
· Establishing and maintaining FMEA documentation.
· Reviewing design decisions with a focus on manufacturability, scalability, and mechanical robustness.
· Defining test criteria and writing clear, structured test protocols.
· Implementing quality procedures and supporting their execution.
· Providing project-level leadership for quality control procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
· University-level education in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in product development or manufacturing engineering.
· Strong experience with SolidWorks.
· Demonstrated affinity with 3D printing and modern manufacturing techniques.
· Experience with force analysis and mechanical simulations.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience designing wearable electronics.
· Experience validating mechanical performance through real-life testing and measurement.
Organization & Collaboration
· The DFM Engineer is part of the Design Engineering Team.
· Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
· Works closely with Quality Control, Operations, and external manufacturing partners.
