What's New in MANUS Core 3.1

We're excited to announce that MANUS Core 3.1 is now available for download.

MANUS Core powers MANUS gloves with accurate, low-latency finger tracking and seamless data recording, export, andstreaming through robust plug-ins and SDKs, ready for robotics, VR and XR, research, and live performance.

Building on the powerful features of Core 3.0, such as improved Metagloves Pro calibration and solver as well as the introduction of the MANUS ROS 2 package, this release focuses on elevating data accuracy and streamlining workflows from setup to applications. Workflows are now more straightforward, faster, and more efficient, while maintaining the highest level of data quality.

Highlights of Core 3.1 include:

  • Ultra-precise skeletal accuracy with customizable hand dimensions
  • Sensor fusion with external tracking systems
  • Real-time file monitoring for automated exporting
  • Support for real-time OptiTrack rigid body data

Hand Size Adjustment for Metagloves Pro

In Core 3, we introduced faster calibration that can be completed within seconds. With Core 3.1, we now introduce a new interface for fine-tuning hand dimensions, offering greater flexibility across workflows. After glove calibration, users can review their resulting measurements and make manual adjustments for further personalization.

This enhancement is available exclusively to Metagloves Pro users. For those using Metagloves Pro with the integrated SDK, we recommend performing calibration and adjustments in MANUS Core, saving the calibration data, and then loading it through the SDK. Learn more >

Sensor Fusion with External Tracking System

With Core 3.1, third-party positional tracking data is now integrated into the MANUS Advanced Hand Solver, delivering greater accuracy for hand-to-hand and hand-to-object interactions and resulting in more precise fingertip positioning. Learn more >

To streamline setup and ensure optimal accuracy, Core 3.1 also includes six built-in presets for popular controllers and trackers:

  • MANUS Steam VR Pro Tracker
  • MANUS Rigid Marker Set
  • HTC VIVE Tracker 1.0/2.0
  • HTC VIVE Tracker 3.0
  • HTC VIVE Ultimate Tracker
  • Meta Quest 2 Touch controller

Real-time File Monitoring for Automated Exporting

Efficiency gets a boost in Core 3.1 with automated file exporting for large-scale motion capture projects, reducing repetitive manual tasks and keeping workflows running smoothly. During live recording, file exports can now be offloaded to a second computer, ensuring uninterrupted performance while managing heavy data loads. Learn more >

Support for Real-time OptiTrack Rigid Body Data

Core 3.1 introduces support for OptiTrack Motive 3 ‘Live Rigid Body’ data, allowing real-time hand and object positional tracking to be ingested directly into MANUS Core and Dashboard. This integration makes it possible to combine rigid body data with MANUS glove tracking, creating a unified stream of motion data that can be seamlessly forwarded into third-party applications for simulation, training, or real-time interaction workflows. Empowering the Metagloves Pro with MANUS Core 3

MANUS Core 3 introduced a significant upgrade with its ROS 2 support package, enabling seamless teleoperation workflows with industry-leading robotic hands. This integration allows developers and researchers to stream high-precision finger-tracking data directly into ROS 2, making it easier than ever to build responsive, real-time control pipelines.
