OptiTrack Metagloves | Updating Firmware
Note: This article applies to both Prime 3 Haptic XR Gloves and Prime 3 Mocap Gloves
Note: This article applies to both Quantum Mocap Metagloves and Quantum XR Metagloves.
To make sure your gloves are always at their optimal performance, you need to make sure they stay up to date.
Introduction
Firmware updates are always rolled out together with new MANUS Core updates. Make sure that your gloves and dongle are always on the same version of the firmware. The need for firmware update is indicated by a triangle with an exclamation mark.
Dongle
Open MANUS Core Dashboard and plug your dongle into your PC. Once the dongle is connected, it will appear in your devices. When you click on it, a menu will appear in the bottom right corner. There, you have the option to update the dongle. Do not unplug the dongle till the update is finished.
Gloves
Open MANUS Core Dashboard, plug the gloves to your PC with the included USB C cable, and turn them on. Just like the dongle, they will appear in your devices. You need to update them one by one. Select your first glove, and like with the dongle, click on the update button and do not unplug the gloves till the process is finished.
During the update, the Status LED will first breathe magenta, then blink magenta. After the update is complete, the glove will reboot.
Repeat for the other glove.
If you accidentally disconnect the gloves or the dongle during the update, and the update button is no longer available, you can turn on the option “force firmware update” in the settings. This will activate the button again. Once you update, you can disable the function.
